How to Await an #Octopus Task in #Azure #DevOps - #dotNet
https://improveandrepeat.com/2024/10/how-to-await-an-octopus-task-in-azure-devops/
Turns out Azure's 10 hour long mega outage yesterday was the result of a DDoS cyber attack.
And the attackers did it just hours before Microsoft's reports quarterly earnings.
And 2 weeks after CrowdStrike.
Man, that Earning Day must've been tough

Hetzner is the most admired cloud platform (75% want to continue working with it), but is only used by 5% of developers. Cloudflare admired by 68% (used by 15%), AWS admired by 63% (used by 48%), Azure admired by 60% (used by 28%), GCP admired by 56% (used by 25%).
Recent #cybersecurity incident around #CrowdStrike and #Windows #Azure shows the problem around monocultures and control over its one technology.
It is important for Europe to evaluate own dependencies and support administrations, business and citizens alike to run secure IT. For this #softwarefreedom plays an important role.
A buggy update to #CrowdStrike Falcon made Windows PCs and servers crash—globally.
Airlines, stock markets, TV networks, banks and more have suffered huge outages this morning. A security service from #CrowdStrike is to blame, apparently.
It seems to have affected #Microsoft365 and #Azure cloud services, too. In #SBBlogwatch, we look for the silver lining. Great keynote by Ross Gardler at #OSSummit sharing #Microsoft’s open source evolution, and the innovation engine project that’s driving improvements in docs and #Azure Copilot.

Ops, I'm stupid, (I was looking for a github workflow), found now.
Farmer is in Build.fs Also well explained in the readme
"Finally, there are Bundle and Azure targets that you can use to package your app and #deploy to #Azure"
I want to show this demo of #fsharp, which manages all - backend, frontend, and cloud resources - to my colleagues.
Perfect thanks
Hello #Azure, have you learned nothing about treating URLs as idempotent?
Instead you just COMPLETELY change the content of an article.

This is by the way a fun side-project at work, providing UDP echo, REST, MQTT, and CoAP test servers. I've implemented them as Dockerized services in four languages (Python, TypeScript, Java, and Golang), and am working with consultants from https://www.atea.no/ to host them on #Azure.
Impressive to see how .NET adopted #OpenTelemetry, including the newly ratified semantic conventions for HTTP.
And how #Microsoft App Insights pushed OTLP instrumentation (the OpenTelemetry native protocol) across #Azure services.

#CloudEvents open specification has reached graduation at the #CNCF
The spec has been adopted by #Adobe I/O Events, #AlibabaCloud EventBridge, #Azure Event Grid, #GoogleCloud Eventarc, #IBMCloud Code Engine, the European Commission and more.
And of course it's been adopted by CNCF projects, such as #Argo, #Falco, #Harbor, and #Knative.
The beauty is that it fits in nicely with existing eventing infrastructure, so I expect more adopters to follow

Any advice on what to ask from our System Infrastructure team now that our shared drive structure is migrated to #Azure?
We've lost the ability to click on email embedded (current)shared drive links within emails.
Help desk response is to manually navigate for each linked file/folder sending us back to early 2000s from a user perspective.
Detail: SharePoint implementation is 9 months late with no new deadline.
